Built from operating experience, not only recommendations
Software to architecture to operations to product to CTO. Technology decisions affect revenue, customers, operations, teams, vendors, and the risks the business carries.
My career has moved across mobile healthcare, enterprise geospatial technology, connectivity, operational platforms, logistics, safety systems, fintech, matchmaking, and AI-enabled products.
I have built and supported systems in environments where technology has to work in the real world: with imperfect connectivity, complex operations, distributed teams, external dependencies, sensitive data, and people who need reliable answers.
Mayo Clinic
Contributed to the flagship patient application for Mayo Clinic, connecting millions of patients to appointment scheduling, test results, radiology images, and medical records. The work was built under HIPAA, personal-information, and PCI compliance requirements, and included secure messaging with care teams, bill pay, and the backend integrations behind appointment itineraries, check-in questionnaires, and Express Care Online.
LifeScan — OneTouch Reveal
Regulated healthcare and connected-device work on OneTouch Reveal, LifeScan's flagship glucose-monitoring app serving more than 50,000 active users, built under HIPAA, personal-information, and PCI compliance requirements. I led distributed engineering teams across the United States and India, migrated the app to Jetpack Compose, and integrated Bluetooth Low Energy syncing with OneTouch meters — supporting personalized goal tracking, A1c comparison, carb logging, activity tracking, and care-team progress sharing through the Blood Sugar Mentor™ experience. These improvements helped reduce crash rates by approximately 40%.
Forcura
Core secure mobile features for Forcura, a patient engagement and care-team workflow platform for smartphone, tablet, and desktop, built under HIPAA, personal-information, and PCI compliance requirements. Work included encrypted real-time messaging, images, and documents between care teams, and the connection to Forcura Workflow for document scan capture and secure upload.
Munay
Founder and CTO work on a personal and lone-worker safety platform, now published and in production. The central question is not only whether a system works in a normal scenario. It is whether people can understand, trust, and operate it when circumstances change.
Intrado SafetyShield
Core features for SafetyShield, an enterprise safety and incident-management platform, including a mobile panic button with direct routing to 9-1-1/PSAPs, secure two-way staff texting with live first-responder collaboration, and digital emergency response plans with role-specific checklists. The platform also supports safety drill management, wellness-check notifications, and student reunification and accountability.
It's Just Lunch
For more than 17 years, I have supported It's Just Lunch, a matchmaking business, across the technology and operational systems behind its client lifecycle. This experience is the foundation of the matchmaking technology specialization: understanding the operational reality behind the service — the people, processes, data, follow-up, reporting, and judgment that must work together to create a good client experience.
Mex-Sport
As fractional CTO, I led the technology behind Mex-Sport's native iOS and Android app and backend services for purchasing sport-fishing permits in Mexico, including cart and checkout, Apple Pay and Stripe payment processing, and user authentication.
Dick's Sporting Goods and Golf Galaxy
Enterprise-scale native Android e-commerce engineering in the DSG environment, including implementing the AI Coach feature using the Adobe Concierge SDK. The engagement relationship must not be described as direct retailer employment without confirmation.
Abaxto
Founder and operator work in retail, distribution, logistics, and multi-platform operations, including offline-first mobile applications, location-aware workflows, scanning technologies, release reliability, CI/CD, and distributed delivery. Through Kolmado, the network Abaxto built to bring retail-level efficiency to small neighborhood stores, the platform grew to more than 100,000 clients across Peru, Chile, and Puerto Rico. This experience shaped how I think about technology: the system has to fit the people, movement, timing, and constraints of the operation.
La Caserita
In Chile, I helped La Caserita launch its B2B2C e-commerce product, working closely with P&G and drawing on the same retail and distribution experience behind Abaxto.
Gambyt — New Hampshire iLottery
As an initial development contributor, over a six-month engagement, I worked on the official NH iLottery application: e-Instant games, major draw-game ticket purchases, in-store ticket scanning, and live KENO 603 draws. My work focused on the platform's core architectural foundation, which I left in a stable state; issues reflected in the app's current public rating were introduced after this engagement ended.
Aion Robotics
Native Android command-and-control software and a dedicated WebRTC module for real-time robot telepresence and control. It is a concise example of another part of my technical range: real-time communication, mobile architecture, and dependable information flow between people and machines.
Gogo
Gogo DASH operational monitoring tooling for in-flight connectivity, including native Android and iOS applications and GeoJSON-based mapping proofs of concept. This work connected mobile software to operational visibility, helping pilots and crew understand the state and location of connectivity infrastructure.
Enterprise platform and modernization work
I have supported a long-running, revenue-generating, multi-location service operation across business workflows, database design, reporting, infrastructure, hosting, production operations, availability, PCI concerns, and modernization planning. That work involved the details that are easy to miss in a high-level strategy: dependencies, integrations, data integrity, deployment, legacy components, testing, ownership, and the cost of changing a live system. The client name and specific details remain confidential.
Fractional CTO work
I currently support an AI-driven fintech as a fractional CTO. This work continues the same pattern: connect the business goal to the product, architecture, risks, team, and next practical decision. The company name, product details, and outcomes remain confidential.
La Mesa de Bea
I am currently guiding the technical development of La Mesa de Bea, a personal cookbook app for co-author Bea Dellepiane: a Kotlin and Jetpack Compose Android app backed by a .NET API, with recipe discovery, guided step-by-step cooking, and multilingual support across English, Spanish, and French.
